We are excited by this new project which will benefit the children of the Refugio Infantil Santa Esperanza and the Vallarta Botanical Gardens. Below is an article written by the US Foundation President & Founder, Chris Amo.
Calling All Cooks Puerto Vallarta Chef, Seth Cloutman, long-time supporter/fundraiser for RISE and Chair for several years now of the feature restaurants at the big event for RISE in February, has come up with another great idea. He intends in the next few months, to put together a COOKBOOK featuring recipes from each of the restaurants who will be participating in our event on February 11, 2012 plus recipes from all of you excellent cooks who wish to participate. Profits from the sale of this cookbook will be split between RISE and the Vallarta Botanical Gardens; two of Seth’s favorite charities. Portraits of the children from RISE taken at the Gardens will be interspersed with recipes in English and Spanish, as well as food shots from the tested recipes. All of this will be tastefully assembled as a full color, glossy bound magazine. So, here’s the part where YOU can be involved. If you care to submit 2 (two) of your favorite recipes to Seth, plus make a $100 US/CDN donation to either the US or Canadian Foundations, Seth will personally test your recipes, select the one which best fits our category needs in the cookbook, photograph your dish and MAKE YOU FAMOUS as a part of this effort. Your recipe will appear alongside recipes from some of the best restaurants in Puerto Vallarta including Vitea, Trio, No Way José!, Cafe des Artistes, Cafe Meditteranean and more! You will receive a free complimentary copy of the cookbook when it becomes available sometime in December. Sound like something you can “bite in to?” Please submit your two recipes by October 25th, 2011 to Seth at seth@foodbyseth.com and send your $100 donation to either the US or Canadian foundation with a notation of “Cookbook”. Be part of this lasting collection of recipes while supporting the Children of the Refugio.
Greetings Foodies! As we start to get ready for the new winter season here in Vallarta, we have resurrected an old blog for our website. We will be adding information such as photos, recipes and community projects as well as articles on seasonal foods as the months progress. We look forward to the return of those friends who are preparing to come back to Paradise for another winter. Buen provecho!
